Students and employers talk jobs at Computing Careers Fair

Computing Fair

Every year employers and students gather to network and discuss employment opportunities in the digital technology industry at Edge Hill’s annual Computing Careers Fair.

The event, which is organised by the Department of Computer Science and supported by the Careers Centre, gives all students the chance to talk to potential employers and find out about career pathways and summer or year-long placements with local, national and international technology companies. The 2017 event, hosted in the recently-opened Tech Hub, attracted more than 220 students and a range of high profile organisations including UKFast, QVC, Nova, Barclays and ROQ IT. As a result of the event, several students have secured interviews for placements and graduate roles.

“We’re a growing family business and we want to be ambitious with technology. I’ve met lots of talented students at the Careers Fair who have told me about their innovative projects, such as with augmented technology. I’ve a pile of CVs on the desk with people to contact in the future.”
