Coronavirus – Contacting Careers

The wellbeing of our students and staff is our top priority. As a result of the ongoing situation with coronavirus (COVID-19) we have taken the decision to replace face-to-face appointments and drop-in sessions for the foreseeable future.

However,  we are still able to help online via our Ask a Question service and are offering some  Telephone appointments.  Our Careers Advisers are also able to provide a live chat (text based) service Mon-Fri from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Please keep checking this page and our Twitter feed for details of any new ways we are able to maintain contact with you. We are also tweeting vacancies at the moment so follow us to see our latest vacancies.

Appointments

We can support you remotely with appointments using MS Teams (current students only), Skype (students and graduates) or telephone (students and graduates). Please book an appointment in the usual way. The adviser will begin the appointment by making a call at the start time. If you have booked a Skype or Teams appointment please ensure you have logged in to the relevant app before the start time. Telephone calls will come from a blocked/withheld number. If you would like feedback on an application, CV, personal statement and so on please attach your document/s to your appointment when you book so we can look at it ahead of the appointment slot.

Live Chat

A Careers Adviser from your Edge Hill University Careers Team will be online 1-2pm Monday to Friday to take your careers related queries. Find out how to ‘chat’ with us.

Part time Jobs

If you have lost your part-time job during this time take a look at our Part-time job information page which offers some advice about who may still be recruiting temporary staff.

Volunteering

Volunteering is in the news as communities draw together to support each other, and many are signing up to help the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic.

Do you want to volunteer but don’t know where to start? Our Volunteer from Home resource contains guidance, with opportunities to help from home, wherever you are. Roles included will help you build skills and experience, as well as making a difference. Opportunities advertised through the Careers Vacancy Service are being updated to make sure you have the current information regarding volunteer recruitment
