In late October, Professor Christopher Dent attended the 2019 International Renewable Energy Conference (IREC) in Seoul, South Korea where he was the keynote speaker on the Trade and Renewable Energy Panel.
Over recent years he has worked closely with REN21, one of the key sponsors of the event, on renewable energy issues.
IREC is held every two years and hosted by the national government of the event location country. Over 800 delegates from around the world attended this year’s IREC, including the previous United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki Moon, who was also one of the speakers.
These events are the world’s biggest international conferences on renewable energy, and Professor Dent was able to share his ideas and research on how the increased trade in renewable energy products can help spread and expand technologies such as solar panels and wind turbines across the world.
