Jayne Harris, a third year Business and Management (with International Management) student has recently placed as a runner-up in a University wide scheme which highlights the value of student employees to businesses in the North-West.
Jayne works at Marks and Spencer Limited in Southport as a customer assistant – she was nominated because in addition to her own duties, Jayne is keen to take on additional responsibilities.
“I don’t see my time at work as separate to my studies – the more tasks I get involved in at work, the more I can see how the theory I learn on my course applies in the workplace. Equally, when I am at the University, my work experience helps me better understand aspects of the theories and concepts we cover in class”.
After completing her studies, Jayne is keen to work in the area of strategic management.
