Big Read 2019 Shortlist – Your chance to choose!

The shortlist for next year’s Big Read is here and it’s your chance to choose your favourite title.

Which of the 6 books would you like to see in 2019? Click here to vote

In December, we asked Edge Hill students and staff to let us know which books you’d like to see on the shortlist of titles for 2019. We received over 80 suggestions, 3 of which feature on the 2019 shortlist. The shortlist is chosen by the Kingston University Big Read Reading Committee.

The six shortlisted books are:

  •  My sister the serial killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite
  • The book of Alexander by Mark Carew
  • Of murder, muses and me by Claudia Chibici-Reveneau,
  • Conclave by Robert Harris
  • The testament of Jessie Lamb by Jane Rogers
  • The unlikely pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce

How can you get involved?

Copies of all 6 books are now available in Catalyst for you to loan and you can let us know your favourite here. We’ll be feeding back to the judging panel at Kingston University at the end of March so make sure to tell us which one you’d like to see before then!

How was the shortlist selected?

To ensure that the selection process is as objective as possible, Kingston University’s Big Read committee use a purpose-built scoring system to select suitable titles. A paper outlining the process is available here.
