Edge Hill University has programmed an exciting series of Saturday events in Liverpool and Ormskirk to complement their partnership with Liverpool Sound City.
The eclectic programme will offer students the chance to showcase their work and gain valuable music industry experience, as well as an exciting range of performances from cutting edge Liverpool artists and talks from top music industry figures.
We have already hosted 6 of our Sound City Saturday events: Vintage Mobile Cinema, The Label Recordings gig at The Arts Centre, Punk Fiction zine workshop, Revolution an installation by artist Alan Dunn, Erin Caine and Michael Boucher, 30 Century Woman: Women in Music Symposium, and Things may come and things may go….a talk about art and pop
Our next event is Resilience and Revolution which will take place at Bluecoat on Saturday 20 May 2.00-3.30pm FREE Tracing his journey through punk and four decades of radio, Roger Hill – the custodian of the nation’s longest-running alternative music radio show on BBC Radio Merseyside – reflects on the enduring legacy of music’s provocative past and the continuing value of music radio. This event will include a showing of his half-hour ambient documentary film, ‘Punk Snow’.
Observed Music is a newly commissioned work by a.P.A.t.T which takes place throughout Saturday 27 May at the Sound City festival site and is FREE (with Sound City wristband)
