VASC Standing Panel

The Validation and Audit Sub-Committee (VASC) is responsible to Edge Hill’s Academic Quality Enhancement Committee for the development, operation and evaluation of the University’s validation, periodic review and internal audit processes. VASC is supported by a Standing Panel of qualified and experienced academic and academic-related support staff who are assigned to individual validation, review and audit panels. Panels are responsible for ensuring that new and existing provision meets nationally-defined standards, complies with the University’s own regulations and provides an appropriate quality of learning opportunities for students. Annual Staff Conference

The next Annual Conference of the Validation and Audit Sub-Committee Standing Panel will take place on Tuesday 10th September 2019, 9.15am-1.00pm in Creative Edge and provides the opportunity for members to come together and exchange ideas and practice in relation to curriculum development, approval and review.  In addition to updates on sector regulation and Edge Hill’s quality assurance procedures, we will hear the outcomes of recent institutional projects on developing students’ assessment literacy and supporting students on combined honours programmes, both of which have resulted in the creation of minimum standards that will be tested at validation and review.  There will also be separate breakout discussions for panel members and chairs.  The programme for the day is here:  and an electronic booking form is available here:
