Taught Degrees Framework

Edge Hill’s Taught Degrees Framework is a set of guiding principles for the design of all undergraduate and taught postgraduate awards validated by the University. Working within the credit structures defined within Academic Regulations, the Framework is essentially enabling in that it signposts available guidance and best practice for effective curriculum design; but also constraining, in that course teams are required to engage with a series of ‘lenses’ containing essential questions about teaching and learning, assessment and student support.

The Taught Degrees Framework Resources Wiki provides access to the lenses accompanied by additional guidance and resources for staff (EHU login required).

The Centre for Learning and Teaching, in collaboration with the Academic Quality & Development Unit, has also developed a Good Practice blog which contains a searchable database of good practice citations from the University’s programme approval, monitoring and review activities, including reports of external examiners.
