Academic planning represents the first stage in the development of a new Edge Hill programme or award. Faculties use the Academic Planning process to establish their priorities in line with the University’s Curriculum Strategy. Faculty development plans are brought together in an institutional Academic Development Plan which is approved by the Academic Planning Committee (APC) and forms the basis of the schedule for programme development and validation. Detailed Applications for Development Consent (ADCs) for individual programmes are received for approval by APC which considers the programme’s academic aims and market rationale alongside the human and physical resources for its delivery. More information about the academic planning process may be found in Chapter 4 of the Quality Management Handbook.
Applications for Development Consent are generated electronically using the University’s E-VAL system.
All guidance notes, templates and associated information can be found in the internal Staffshare network folder Y:\Everyone\Academic Planning.
