Our Campus

Edge Hill University boasts a vibrant campus community located in 160 stunning acres near Ormskirk in West Lancashire.

Lakes, green spaces and even a beach can be found alongside award winning building developments which reflect almost 130 years of history and innovation.  New buildings help to fulfil our vision of a visually inspiring, sustainable environment, and include the flagship £27 million Catalyst Building opened this year, a £17 million Creative Edge building, a new Arts Centre building, new Technology, Biosciences and Geosciences facilities and a £13.5 million Student Hub.

The £30 million Sports Centre opened in September 2015 and allows students, staff and the local community to enjoy some of the best sports facilities in the country. Facilities include a 25m swimming pool, 100-station fitness suite, sauna, steam room, aerobics studio, and a multi-court sports hall with viewing gallery.

Continued development of on-campus accommodation continues, and Palatine Court, with a further 144 en suite bedrooms, opened its doors in 2015, while another 168 rooms became available from September 2016, bringing the total number of students that can live on campus to 2,259.

The £13.5m Technology Hub, a bespoke new home for the University’s Department of Computing, providing classrooms, offices and a new lecture theatre booted up in October 2016.
