Summer Schools

The majority of former students look back on their time at university as the best years of their lives - and here's your chance to find out why!

Summer Schools are all about giving you the opportunity to experience life at uni, get a taste of what it's like to be a student and meet other young people who are also thinking about their future.

Who's it for?

Summer Schools are aimed at young people with little or no experience or knowledge of higher education and who have not previously considered it as an option. You might be:

  • The first or one of the first members of your family to think about going to university or a higher education college;
  • From a community or a school where going to university is unusual;
  • Disabled, have a sight or hearing problem, dyslexia or learning difficulty;
  • Living apart from your family or in the care of the local authority.

If you’re still unsure whether you are eligible to apply for a place on one of our Summer Schools just get in touch and speak to one of the Summer School team.

What's involved?

At Edge Hill we offer a variety of residential experiences for young people from ages 13–18. The Summer Schools vary from 2-day to week-long events.

However long the stay, as an “honorary undergraduates” you'll get to take part in lectures, learn about university life from current students, stay in our halls of residence and take part in various social events, perhaps a disco, ten-pin bowling, a BBQ or karaoke.
