The North West is synonymous with outstanding national museums, contemporary galleries, and historic theatres.
Liverpool, a UNESCO world heritage city, includes the Tate, Bluecoat and Walker Art galleries, FACT, the World Museum, the International Slavery Museum, Merseyside Maritime Museum, The Beatles Story and the Liverpool Biennial.
While the major cultural centre of Manchester is home to the Imperial War Museum North, the Manchester and Whitworth Art galleries, the Cornerhouse, Cube and the Museum of Science and Industry. You will also find the People’s History Museum and the new National Football Museum.
Theatre-goers are well catered for with opportunities to see a range of performances, from national touring productions and traditional plays through to innovative new works at the likes of the Everyman and Playhouse, Royal Exchange, The Lowry and the Empire and Palace theatres.
