What qualifications do I need?
The qualifications required vary between programmes and are outlined in the specific information for each course. You do not necessarily need to have traditional A-levels as we often consider alternative qualifications and offer a number of widening participation initiatives which are designed to raise awareness of choices and opportunities in higher education.
Our popular Fastrack programmes equip adults with the skills and knowledge required for entry to Edge Hill University degrees and offer progression onto selected undergraduate programmes.
Some courses require you to possess certain GCSEs or level 2 awards in addition to other qualifications. If you do not possess these GCSEs or level 2 awards, we offer equivalency programmes in GCSE maths, English and science, and level 2 literacy and numeracy.
If you do not have any relevant qualifications you may want to consider an Access to Higher Education Diploma. Offered at local Further Education Colleges, the course usually take around one year to complete on a full time basis and is designed to prepare mature students for studying at university. They are available in a number of different subject areas and further details, including a search facility for local providers, can be found at www.accesstohe.ac.uk.
