Tuition fees for DipHE Paramedic Practice students will be paid by the Strategic Health Authority.

Maintenance Loan

UK students joining any of the courses in our pre-registration professional portfolio, excluding DipHE Paramedic Practice, can apply for a non-means-tested maintenance loan to help with living expenses. The amount you are entitled to depends on whether you will be living at home or elsewhere while at University.

The maximum maintenance loan amount for the first two years of a pre-registration course is £1,744pa for students living at home with their parents and £2,324pa for those living elsewhere. For year 3 the maximum loan amount is £1,324pa for students living at home with their parents and £1,811pa for those living elsewhere.

You pay the money back through the tax system after you graduate although repayments will only start when you are earning at least £21,000pa.

Students joining DipHE Paramedic Practice will not be entitled to a maintenance loan.

Maintenance Grant

Non-means-tested maintenance grants of £1,000pa are available for UK students joining any of the courses in our pre-registration professional portfolio, excluding DipHE Paramedic Practice.

Students joining DipHE Paramedic Practice will not be entitled to a maintenance grant.

Bursaries

UK students joining any of the courses in our pre-registration professional portfolio, excluding DipHE Paramedic Practice, can apply for an NHS means-tested bursary. Up to £3,351pa is available for students living at home with their parents and up to £4,395pa is available for students living elsewhere.

UK students joining DipHE Paramedic Practice are eligible for a non-income assessed bursary of £6,701pa. Bursaries for DipHE Paramedic Practice students are administered by Edge Hill University, not the NHS Business Services Authority.

In addition to the basic bursary, UK pre-registration students (including those on DipHE Paramedic Practice), can apply for a number of additional allowances if they meet specific criteria. These allowances provide support to disabled students and additional support for students with dependent adults and children. Students can also claim help with travel costs to their placements, if they incur additional costs to those incurred when travelling to university.
