Jeannette Ellis - Learning and Teaching Fellowship Profile
Description of Role
As a senior lecturer in continuing professional development my main role is to manage, coordinate and facilitate the mentorship in practice modules, levels II (5) , III (6) and IV (7) in the Faculty of Health and Social Care . These modules are designed to meet professional standards for registered practitioners as well as develop individuals academically. This demands that I maintain interprofessional links and network effectively with both clinical and academic colleagues to further enhance teaching and learning.
Fellowship Foci for 2007 – 2008
My foci is on the continued development of mentoring with the intention of engaging lifelong learners in professional and academic progression. Specifically I am concerned with using feedback to inform learning at different levels and am interested in the learners perceptions of feedback and its application in developing individuals.
In addition I intend to further develop the notions of blended learning in relation to mentoring to enhance the quality of modules and programmes of study.
