Primary PGCE: Support

Standard PGCE

If you are offered a place, you will be sent guidance on how to prepare for your course and how to analyse your achievements and needs in a Training Profile, which you will continue to use throughout your course. You will be given further guidance and preparatory tasks at a pre-course day. During your course, you will have regular meetings with a Personal Tutor, and detailed guidance on how to apply for teaching jobs.

Flexible Programme

In addition to the above:

Trainees on Pathway C (4-6 terms) will be given additional support in preparation for their school placements. Trainees on Pathways B and A will be supported through written course guides, web-based materials, face-to-face tutorials, and email: or telephone. They will also be able to attend most standard PGCE lectures and seminars.
