Undergraduate Degrees
Our extensive undergraduate course provision includes programmes preparing you for specific careers such as law, health or education, as well as broader areas of arts, sciences and technologies. Whatever route you choose, we will help you develop and assess personal strengths and prepare you for a rewarding career.
Undergraduate Degree Scheme
Within our undergraduate degree scheme, courses can be studied in a variety of ways to offer you choice, support and flexibility. At the application stage you need to think about the subjects you are interested in and whether you want to concentrate on one main subject or combine different subjects together:
- Single Honours – follow a set programme, generally with some choice of elective modules in the second and third year.
- Combined Honours – study two subjects throughout the three years of your programme, with your major subject taking up about 75% of your study time and your chosen minor making up the remainder.
- Joint Honours - study a programme comprising around 50% in each subject area. Your degree award will reflect the balance of subjects studied.
All modules in the Edge Hill Undergraduate Degree Scheme have a CATS (Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme) credit rating of 15 or 30 CATS credits. Full time students are expected to study a total of 120 CATS points each year, comprising 30 credits in year 1 of the Scheme and a mixture of 15 and 30 credit modules in years 2 and 3.
Flexible Study
Many of the subjects on our Undergraduate Degree Scheme can be studied on a flexible (daytime) basis. Flexible students can study a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 90 credits per year. Most flexible students choose to study either one or two modules per semester (usually two sessions per week).
Associate Study
It is also possible to study individual modules or groups of modules as an associate student without registering for a full degree programme. You can elect to study for interest without taking formal assessment to gain academic credit.
