Masters and Research
Masters
If you wish to pursue your studies beyond first degree level and gain a foundation for a higher degree by research, then a programme at Masters level could be for you. You'll develop your professional skills and knowledge to an advanced level and learn from specialist course leaders and lecturers who are active researchers. Whichever Masters programme you choose, you'll work alongside other students in seminars and workshops and benefit from strong tutor support.
Joining a taught postgraduate programme at Edge Hill, you will follow a programme of study which leads to an MA, MSc, LLB, MBA or MCh. Masters courses are available across all three faculties.

Research Degrees
The development and dissemination of knowledge is fundamental to a university such as Edge Hill. We offer two research degrees, the MPhil and PhD. These qualifications are awarded to students who have completed individual programmes of research and written a thesis reporting the results of that research. Topics may result from personal interest, an area of study related to one of your earlier qualifications or it may be an issue your employer would like you to investigate in depth.
You will generally be expected to attend appropriate seminar and lecture programmes and will be supported during your study by a team of supervisors, who will have experience of your academic area and the research progress. The degrees may be studied on a full time or part time basis.
