During the programme you will be supported in developing a critical and reflective outlook to health care practice. To achieve this you will be required to expand your existing skills and knowledge of nursing practice, problem solve, communicate with clarity, gain an understanding of the research process and utilise research findings to underpin your practice, values and beliefs.

How we will support you

The programme leader will act as your personal tutor during the programme, offering both academic and pastoral support.

You will also have the support of individual module coordinators who will provide tutorials and a dissertation/advancing project supervisor.

What will I study?

Compulsory modules will examine the context of international nursing and also look at how mentorship can support learning in practice.

You will develop an understanding of the research process and look at different research methods as well as the need for an evidence-based approach. Following this you will complete a dissertation.

The final 20 credits will involve studying either a negotiated learning module (only available on the full-time route delivered at the Ormskirk Campus) or a module that addresses the issues and complex care needs of an ageing population.
