Modules

HUG 3150 Consultation and Inter-Professional Assessment considers the principles of assessment. The module will analyse the factors which contribute to an effective consultation in which relevant information is accurately evaluated and processed to enable all members of the inter-professional team to identify and prioritise the principal needs of clients and their families

HUG 3100 Dissertation focuses on the identification of an area of vocational interest or concern (to be agreed with your supervisor). You will engage in a structured review of the literature related to your specific area of study, apply critical analysis to the existing literature and make recommendations that will improve service provision.

HEA 3102 Research Methods develops your understanding of the research process and the nature and variety of research methods. The module will also furnish you with an appreciation of the need for an evidence base to guide decision making processes and give you a critical understanding of the nature and validity of key quantitative and qualitative research methods.

HEA 3065 Negotiated Learning Shell involves identifying a chosen topic or work-related issue to study. You will then develop and negotiate a learning contract, outlining the ‘what, how, when, where and why’ of the study period together with the means of assessment to showcase the acquired learning.

HUG 3151 Medicines Management and Risk provides enhanced knowledge and understanding of evidence-based medicines management. Central features of the module are patient safety and risk management. Whilst not a practical skills module for drug administration, it will enhance your knowledge and understanding of competent and safe practice in this area.

HUG 3152 Politics and Social Policy will equip you with an enhanced understanding of policy, theory and practice in health and social welfare provision. You will critically explore the political, economic and social contexts within which the current health and social care sectors in the UK are established. The module illustrates the complexities of the policy process and supports in-depth appreciation of competing political ideologies in prioritising key initiatives.
