Applying through UCAS Extra
If you have applied through UCAS and are still without any offers, for whatever reason, you may find UCAS Extra useful. This service allows you to apply for any courses with vacancies between the end of February and the end of June.
Can I use UCAS Extra?
To use this service you need to have:
- Already made five choices;
- Have received decisions from all these choices;
- Either had no offers or declined all the offers you have received.
If you are eligible to use the Extra service, a button will appear on your Track progress screen and the Course search will tell you which courses have vacancies.
If your first Extra choice does not make you an offer, then you can apply for another course at the same or a different university using the same process.
If you missed the 22nd January application deadline you can still submit an application to any course that still has vacancies.
Clearing
The Clearing process runs from early August. If you don’t achieve the grades you were expecting and your place is not confirmed or you do better than expected and change your decision about where to study then this service is designed to help you.
You can apply for any course that still has vacancies and a list of these will appear on the UCAS site.
