Living on Campus
Edge Hill University offers a safe and secure environment in which to live and many new students appreciate the supportive, sociable and secure atmosphere that life in halls can offer. As we’re campus based, you’ll find everything you need is just a few minutes walk from your room.
The halls of residence at our Ormskirk Campus are divided into five separate areas housing a total of over 1,000 students. More than 300 rooms are available as catered accommodation and the remaining 700+ are self-catered. Over 500 rooms have en-suite facilities.
Our accommodation is priced to suit a range of budgets and includes two impressive new developments; the state-of-the-art Founders Court completed in 2009 and highly-contemporary Chancellors Court set to open in September 2010.
What do I need to bring?
All rooms are furnished with a bed, wardrobe, desk and chair and you are free to bring your own things to make your room your own personal space with posters, photos and other personal items. You’ll need to bring your own bed linen (including duvet and pillow), towels, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.
All rooms in Founders Court and Chancellors Court come equipped with a flatscreen computer / freeview TV while the contemporary shared kitchen and living areas include a 32" LCD freeview TV. If allocated a room in any of our other halls, you'll need your own computer and TV if you wish to use them (a TV licence will also be required). Wireless enabled internet access is available, free of charge, in all halls of residence.
How much will it cost?
Our on campus accommodation is covered by two different types of residential contract: a 38 week contract, running from September to June, and a 40 week contract, running from September to July.
Prices for academic year 2010/11 range from £54 to £93 per week depending on the hall of residence you choose. A 5% discount if available if you pay for the whole fixed term in full on or before 'Welcome Sunday' when you’ll move in.
