The Faculty of Arts & Sciences provides a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes based in eight academic departments.  Most degree programmes are based wholly in one Department, but some programmes (for example Joint Honours Programmes) may be taught across two Departments.

The Faculty has 150 full time academic staff and around 3,750 students. 

The Faculty Office is located on the first floor of the Learning and Innovation Centre (LINC), where the Dean, the Associate Deans and the following professional administrators are based:

Edge Hill University Business School

The CMIST building offers a large number of Apple Mac computers to support professional Media provision, and houses a wide variety of other specialist facilities and equipment.

Natural, Geographical and Applied Sciences (NGAS)

The Department of NGAS operates from the Geography block and the Natural and Applied Sciences (NAS) Building and offers the following undergraduate provision:

Specialist laboratory facilities supporting Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Physical Geography, Environmental Science, Geological Science and Geographical Information Systems are provided.  The Department is active in research in the geographical and environmental sciences, ecology and genetics and currently offers an MSc in Conservation Management.

Performing Arts

Psychology

The Department is based in the Social and Psychological Sciences building and offers a wide range of undergraduate provision in the following areas:

Many staff in the Department are highly research active and collaborate widely with colleagues within and beyond the University. Specialist laboratory facilities are available for students studying Psychology.
