Student Guides assist in activities designed to increase recruitment to Edge Hill University amongst a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.

What are typical activities for a Student Guide?

Student Guides are a key part of the Recruitment Process. Potential students relish the opportunity to talk to current students as a way of finding out 'what being a student is really like'.

The role requires you to share your experiences of university life as a current student and be a role model for potential applicants, representing Edge Hill in a positive and enthusiastic manner.

Typical activities include:

• Assisting university staff in providing relevant information to prospective students at a range of recruitment events;
• Giving tours of the Ormskirk campus to visitors;
• Working with school groups visiting the campus;
• Sharing information and answering questions about life at university.

How much will I be paid?

All student workers are currently paid £6.97 per hour. You will be paid on the last working day of the month and payment is made directly into your bank account.

How do I apply?

Applications are usually accepted in September and January. Successful applicants will be invited to interview. All successful interviewees will be required to undertake compulsory training before starting work.
