Pre-conference Evening Seminar
Research Matters: Setting a Contemporary eLearning Research Agenda
Prior to the SOLSTICE 2007 Conference, on Thursday 10 May 2007, a pre-conference evening seminar was held at the Wrightington Hotel & Country Club in Lancashire.
The seminar was facilitated by:
- Professor Peter Hartley - External Evaluator for SOLSTICE - University of Bradford
- Professor Andrew Sackville - Consultant to the SOLSTICE Centre - Edge Hill University
- Mark Schofield - SOLSTICE Academic Director & Dean of Teaching & Learning Development - Edge Hill University
- Lawrie Phipps - Programme Manager, Users and Innovation - Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC)
- Professor Eric Hamilton - Director of the Centre for Research on Learning Technology - Institute for Information Technology Applications, US Air Force
The seminar focused on two key issues:
- Identifying current research approaches, and their appropriateness in addressing the research agenda;
- The setting of new research directions as tenets for a contemporary elearning research agenda.
