Edge Hill University Performing Arts Department 3rd Year Students present Die Praxis der Liebe (The Practice of Love) at the Victoria Baths, Manchester.

This dance theatre piece assembles and reassembles snippets of choreography that emerge and re-emerge as both cohesive and chaotic: the chance moment of movements in and out of synchronicity between the pre-recorded images, improvised movement, choreographed phrases and live camera feed capture. Performers move between ‘real time' and ‘mediated time' appearing and reappearing in search of a narrative, perpetual repetitions induce an unbearable claustrophobia caught ‘for real' in the spotlight.

The work explores the intersection between technology and the immediacy and the intimacy of the live body in space that is constantly in negotiation with other forms of mediatised expression.
