European Arts Company present The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

Tickets £8.50 / £6.50 concessions.

The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde promises to take the audience to the dark side in a thrilling, gripping and highly entertaining reinvention of this classic tale.

Set in a Whitechapel tavern in 1888, a versatile cast tell the gruesome story of Dr Jekyll and his charismatic alter-ego using only the things you would find in a pub.  Barrels, tankards, darts, brasses, bar stools, soda syphons, billiard cues, yards of ale and even Aunt Sally are used to create the physical world of Victorian London with great ingenuity and imagination. Set against the background of the Whitechapel murders (which caused the original London stage production to be cancelled) the Company explore the novel's themes of duality, identity and weird science in their highly physical, accessible and entertaining style.

'At times it’s delightfully bawdy and the visual comedy adds so much to the all-round entertainment. It’s the kind of production you long to see again - just in case you’ve missed something the first time around. There is so much to absorb and enjoy.' The Stage, March 2010.
