Dead Man's Cards (James Marquand, 2006) will be screened on Thursday 11th February 2010 at 7:30pm in the Studio Theatre. The film is an 18 certificate.

Tom (James McMartin -My Kingdom) is a former amateur boxing champion whose gut is now bigger than his right hook. Down on his luck and out of work he gets a job as a doorman through Paul (Paul Barber - The Full Monty), an ex-squaddie he meets at the local gym. Paul introduces him to the seedy world he's joined as they man the door at a divey club. Run by "Billy the Cowboy" (Tom Bell - Prime Suspect), the place is full of people spoiling for a fight. Strong performances tease out a gripping story of loyalty and professionalism on the back streets of Liverpool, this low-budget thriller has a ragged, authentic feel, which it laces into a western-themed story of two men standing up to gun-toting villains.
