BA (Hons) History
“When I was at college I really enjoyed reading the Edge Hill student blogs, they gave me a real feel for university life and what to expect, as well as being really useful for answering any questions I had.
It was because I had such a good experience as an applicant that I knew I wanted to offer the same help and support to other prospective students when I became an Edge Hill student myself and so I decided to become a student blogger.
One aspect of Edge Hill that I really enjoy is the closeness and friendliness you experience. I find the campus being on one site a real benefit, it makes it easy to find your way around and encourages you to meet friends and get to know the staff, whether in the library, the Student Union, academic areas or the careers office.
At Edge Hill the support starts before you get here and then there is continuous help throughout your studies, from inductions to individual personal tutor sessions. It’s important not to be shy!
The final piece of advice I’d give to prospective students is to take your first year seriously! Maintaining a work–social life balance can be tricky, but it is important to stick to assignment deadlines, get your reading done and work hard.”
