“It’s a very exciting time to be joining the Faculty Health and Social Care as we are going through a period of growth and development that will increase our already strong reputation for delivering high quality, innovative programmes.

“Our new £14 million purpose-built accommodation houses some of the best facilities for health undergraduates in the country. Our learning resources are second to none with leading edge clinical skills facilities including ward simulations with industry standard equipment to give students as realistic a learning experience as possible.

“As well as teaching rooms, the new building is designed to include lots of informal learning spaces which will bring students and staff together to share knowledge and ideas in a way that wasn’t possible before. Having the majority of the Faculty on one site for the first time will give us a real sense of community and more opportunities for shared learning, for example between student nurses, midwives and Operating Department Practitioners.

“Being based on the Ormskirk campus also opens us up to new partnerships with Trusts and private and voluntary organisations in the local area, meaning more placement and employment opportunities for our students. We can also be more responsive to changes in society and the healthcare marketplace and have already recently extended our range of courses to cover women’s health and social work.

“One thing that hasn’t changed is the supportive environment we offer all of our students. We aim to support you through all stages of your career from pre-registration through to continuing professional development and will give you all the academic and personal help you need.”
