I liked the fact that this course didn’t just focus on early years, but goes all the way up to adolescence, which means I could go into a lot of different careers.
“Children’s services have expanded so much in recent years; I was already working in this area, but I knew that it was important for me to have a degree if I wanted to progress. The course is excellent, really interesting and broad, covering a bit of everything: psychology, sociology, health. It has really helped me – I can now think at a strategic level, not just about the hands-on part of the job.
“I chose Edge Hill because it has a big teaching department with a good reputation. I love the setting; it’s a lovely campus. The tutors are really approachable, you can go to them at any time if you have a problem, and the library is great; I particularly like the fact that you can access a lot of books and journals electronically – I live in Bolton and have three children and I can’t go to and from campus all the time, so this really helps me.”
