Jenni was appointed to the Film Studies team in August 2006. She teaches on a variety of modules but is responsible for the first year core module, FLM 1001 How to read a Film, and the specialist Level Three module, Global Perspectives and National Cinemas. She also teaches the Film genre Case Study (horror film), Film Genre: Conventions and Ideologies and Text to Screen.

In addition to her expertise in Japanese cinema, Jenni is developing her PhD research into British disaster fiction. Her interests include science fiction in film, literature and on television, the Gothic, and psychoanalytic theory.

Before joining the Film Studies Team, Jenni gained a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Language and a Masters degree in Science Fiction Studies from the University of Liverpool.
