When I graduate, the additional experiences I have gathered should give me a much better chance of securing a desirable job in an industry that is rapidly expanding and diversifying.

“I have really enjoyed my Web Systems Development course as not only does it provide skills in website design and development, it also includes a range of key business areas which will undoubtedly enhance your employability.

During the course you also have the chance to take part in a variety of commercial projects which give you the opportunity to work alongside leading industry professionals. These work-based experiences have been a key factor in developing my practical skills and knowledge and have enabled me to start a part-time web design business (www.dezignaweb.co.uk) around my studies.

It goes without saying that we all want to achieve the best degree classification we can and that being focused and dedicated is important, but I also think that gaining industry knowledge and understanding is really significant. When I graduate, the additional experiences I have gained should give me a much better chance of securing a desirable job in an industry that is rapidly expanding and diversifying.

I am constantly looking to develop my web design/development portfolio, and it’s great to be able to utilise the skills you learn on your degree and put them to use in a professional capacity. If things go well, working for myself full-time is something I’d be very interested in pursuing.

There’s no doubt about the importance of being hard working, self motivated and determined, but if you combine this with the strong theoretical and practical skills you learn while at Edge Hill, then you really are giving yourself the best chance of career success.”
