Fees and Finance: Flexible PGCE Students 2012/13

Please note, this information is for prospective UK students joining flexible or part-time PGCEs at Edge Hill University between September 2012 and August 2013.

Fees and Loans

Eligible students will not have to pay up-front for their tuition. The cost of tuition will be paid by a loan which students will only start to repay once they have left their course and are earning over £21,000 a year.

For academic year 2012/13, Edge Hill University will charge £75 per credit for flexible PGCEs. 120 credits are required to complete a PGCE, taught flexibly over two or three years depending on the subject.

Please note, prospective Science with Physics trainees with a 2:1 or first may be eligible to apply for an Institute of Physics scholarship worth £20,000. However, trainees who are awarded this scholarship will not be eligible to also receive the Department for Education bursary.

EU Students

Tuition fees for EU students are the same amount as those for UK students.

If you are an EU national and you have been living in the European Economic Area (EEA) and/or Switzerland for three years before your course begins, you are probably eligible for a tuition fee loan meaning the course does not have to be paid for upfront.

For further information on the financial support available to EU students, visit www.ukcisa.org.uk.
