Aims and Deliverables
The aims of the eQT Pathfinder Project will enhance off-campus provision for elearning through:
- Enhancement of student support and guidance in relation to elearning in partnership delivery arrangements and in off-campus provision
- Development of coordinated and coherent audit and preparation guidance in relation to elearning in partnership delivery arrangements and in off-campus provision including financial costing approaches and consideration of learner transitions
- Positively influence quality enhancement strategies in the university in relation to elearning in partnership arrangements and in off-campus provision
- Dissemination to the wider sector in relation to all aspects of the project
Deliverables
- Audit tools to assess the readiness of off-campus study sites in relation to elearning
- Online needs analysis tools for students to support planning and delivery of orientation to online learning and to assess technical competence
- A compendium of staff development ‘good practice guides’ in online/electronic multimedia formats coupled with workshop events
- Exemplarsof memoranda of co-operation for use with partner organisations (HE in FE) to ensure high quality elearning provision and student guidance
- Metrics for costing elearning support for off-campus provision and for use in establishing partnership agreements
- Online learning modules for:
1. Student induction to online learning - Getting Started online.
2. Development of information literacy/information and academic skills for students – Springboard.
3. Online module for staff as e-tutors with a particular emphasis on student support and guidance at a distance - Designing for Online and Web-based, Learning and Support for Student.
- Case study and research analyses of implementations linked to the good practice guidance and the artefacts from the project
- At least one academic research paper for publication
- Theme at existing Edge Hill conference on ‘principles and practice in e-support for students at a distance and in HE in FE partnerships’ and a network of interested parties derived from attendees
- Fully active web pages populated with information, news and downloadable versions of the toolkit artefacts and resource
