Our final year students are sharing their views about their experience at Edge Hill University in the National Student Survey 2013, which until April 30th.
Since it was launched, the National Student Survey has shown Edge Hill University students to be some of the most satisfied in the country. Edge Hill has consistently ranked highly in the government survey of the quality of study programmes, with a top-three position in the region for overall satisfaction achieved in every NSS so far.
In 2012, responses to seven of the 21 NSS questions are the best in the region, while other results include:
- Top in the North West for Students’ Personal Development
- Top in the North West for Assessment and Feedback
- Top 3 in the North West for satisfaction with Students’ Union
Computer Science –Top in the region and in the national top three for student satisfaction.
Dance – Top in the region for Academic Support and top two for Teaching, Assessment & Feedback, Organisation & Management and students’ Personal Development.
Drama – Top for Teaching in the North West.
Education – Top in the region for Assessment & Feedback and top two for Learning Resources and Personal Development.
History – Top in the region for students’ Personal Development.
Imaginative Writing – Top in the region and second out of all English institutions for student satisfaction. Our courses are also top in the country for Personal Development, Academic Support and Course Organisation.
Initial Teacher Training – Top two in the region for Academic Support, Assessment & Feedback and Organisation & Management.
Law – Top two in the region for Teaching and Academic Support.
Nursing – Learning Resources to support our Nursing degree programmes are in the top four in the country.
Physical Geography and Environmental Science – In the national top three for students’ satisfaction with Teaching and Personal Development.
Psychology – Top in the region and fifth out of all English institutions for overall student satisfaction.
Social Work – Top in the region for Academic Support.
Sociology – Top in the country for Teaching.
The National Student Survey, which surveyed all final year students on degree programmes in universities in 2012, aimed to gather feedback on the quality of study programmes in order to contribute to public accountability as well as to help inform the choices of future applicants to higher education.
