Professor Rick Delbridge investigates the research process

Academic staff from all facilities of Edge Hill University recently welcomed the internationally renowned Rick Delbridge, Professor of Organizational Analysis at Cardiff University and Fellow of the Advanced Institute of Management and the British Academy of Management, to speak about the research process.

This session was insightful and valuable with Professor Delbridge talking in detail about research in organizational and management studies as well as how to obtain funding and become published.  He also spent a period of time examining the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF).  

Professor Delbridge proved to be a lively and provocative speaker and all those who attended commented on how useful the session had been. Event organiser and Reader in Organisational Analysis, Terry Wallace, comments, "Colleagues not only got useful information about how they could access research funding, but more importantly there was also a feeling that Rick had demystified the research process and given everyone more confidence about getting involved in research at various levels."  

Sally Thompson, Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science and Pre-hospital Care adds, "It was a really enlightening and enjoyable session and has given me lots to feed back to the paramedic team for our future research."
