Listen to keynote speaker Robin Alexander, Director of the Cambridge Primary Review, explain the report in more detail and Edge Hill University's involvement in helping them take forward the proposals in order to improve the quality of primary education experienced by all the nation's children, particularly the disadvantaged and vulnerable the current education system.
Listen to the full interview with Robin Alexander:
Although the general conclusion was that primary schools are already doing a good job, Edge Hill has a role to play in looking at the way primary schools are staffed and to empower teachers who carry out their training at the University.
Edge Hill has been chosen as one of nine regional network centres for the Cambridge Primary Review, which gives the University the opportunity to be at the forefront of educational change and support reform in teacher education.
