Star in advertising

The man who wrote the ‘bible' for students of advertising, marketing and design will pass on his words of wisdom to Edge Hill University's students at a special masterclass.

Andy Tibbs is a Senior Lecturer in Advertising at the University of Gloucestershire and who has worked for over 20 years as an art director and designer across many business sectors, with a long list of high-profile clients including Volkswagen, British Gas, Hilton Hotels and Capital One. He also works as a freelance trainer, inspiring secondary school teachers to include insightful, relevant creative teaching in their art and design programmes.

He will be visiting the Ormskirk Campus on Tuesday 30thNovember to give year three students advice on their final projects. He will then do a question and answer session about the advertising business and what it expects from students and graduates. 

The author of Advertising: It's Business, Culture and Careers is brimming with ideas to inspire others and, like his book, he will be giving students lots of guidance on how to become a star in the competitive world of advertising.

Using words of advice from some of the industry's most respected practitioners and insights from graduates who faced those challenges when trying to secure that elusive first job, his talk will give lots of hints and tips to enhance students' creative thinking processes and gain an edge at job interviews.
