Dance, dance, wherever you may be!

Use your dancing feet and work off all those extra chocolate egg-laden calories this Easter by joining the Rose Theatre's special workshops for young people.

Dance, dance, wherever you may be is a three-day workshop aimed at children aged between 12 and 18 who want to practise their disco moves!

It's the first time that this type of activity has been organised to just focus on dance-related activities and has been organised by Edge Hill University's Rose Theatre in conjunction with West Lancashire Borough Council.

For the first time ever, youngsters will have an amazing opportunity to check out their moves and work with a top professional at Edge Hill University who will focus on teaching participants a range of modern, upbeat dance techniques.

June Gibbons, Rose Theatre Manager, said: "We organise a range of activities in performing arts during the school holidays to give children a chance to express themselves but this is the first time we have organised workshops specifically focused on dancing because it's such a popular pastime. There are still a few places left so I'd urge people to hurry and book their place now."

Classes take place on Tuesday 6th, Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th April and are split into two categories:

  • Contemporary Dance - a series of three morning workshops priced at £15
  • Street Dance - a series of three afternoon workshops priced at £15

For more information on the workshops or to make a booking, please contact the Council's Chapel Gallery on 01695 571328 or email chapel.gallery@westlancs.gov.uk. Those who book on all 6 workshops will get a discount and pay just £25.
