Edge Hill graduates top table

Edge Hill University has topped the table for graduate employment in the North West.

Figures compiled by the Higher Education Statistics Agency reveal that 95.3% of Edge Hill graduates find employment or go on to further study within six months of obtaining their degree.

Dr. John Cater, Edge Hill University's Vice-Chancellor, expressed his delight at the figures: "When the small percentage not available for work is excluded, fewer than one in twenty-five of last year's honours graduates were seeking work at the census date, an outstanding outcome in the face of the worst recession for decades and a significant commendation of the employability of graduates and the relevance of their degree programmes.

"The Performance Indicators also demonstrated that the University continues to excel in the recruitment of students from less privileged backgrounds, ranking third of 111 universities for students from state schools and fifth nationally for recruitment from low participation neighbourhoods. Commenting further, Edge Hill's Vice-Chancellor stated, "Education has the potential to transform lives, and I am extremely pleased that this year's tables confirm the University's long-established record as a provider of high quality higher education to all students."
