Advert featuring animated virtual student wins top award
Edge Hill University's television advert, starring the animated student ‘Jez' has won the prestigious Recruitment Business Award in the Education Recruitment category.
The advertisement, shown last year on Channel 4, Sky and Granada, combined live film of students on university campus with animated footage. The advert was made by Manchester-based agency Euro RSCG Riley, working with animation studio Kilogramme and producers The Soup Collective.
Organised by The Drum, one of the UK's leading publications for the advertising, design, media, marketing, PR and online industries, and in association with the Daily Telegraph, the award recognises excellence in recruitment business practice and creativity in recruitment advertising outside of the M25.
The advert helped Edge Hill to recruit high-quality students to its growing range of courses.
Roy Bayfield, Director of Marketing at Edge Hill said: "We work with the best creative agencies in the North West to produce stunning work that really communicates with our audiences. It's great to see this acknowledged in the Recruitment Business Awards."
Euro RSCG Riley Director Jim Tudor said: "We are incredibly proud of our work with Edge Hill University over the past five years, and enjoy working on such creative and innovative projects."
Marketing awards won by Edge Hill include a HEIST award for an earlier advert and the international CASE Circle of Excellence Gold Medal award for the Creative Use of Technology for a new media initiative launched by Edge Hill to help future students prepare for university.
