Children's Voices - Are We Listening?
A series of free public lectures entitled Children’s Voices: Are We Listening? is being held at Edge Hill University during 2008.
The series will highlight the ongoing work being undertaken by
academics, children’s rights activists and policymakers to allow the
views and perspectives of young people themselves to impact on how they
are treated and understood. The United Nations Conventions on the
Rights of the Child and Labour’s 10 year plan for children are looked
at during the series.
The first lecture, Listening to the Voice of the Young Child will be
delivered by Lucy Williams, Project Manager for the national pilot
programme Young Children's Voices Network, at 6pm on 21 February 2008.
Each lecture evening will begin with drinks at 5pm, followed at 6pm by
the lecture. At 7.15pm light refreshments will be served. To book a
free place please contact Vicki Coppock on 01695 58 4430 or email coppockv@edgehill.ac.uk.
