Nursing Your Way to a Health Career
Edge Hill University welcomed employers from across the country to the University's first Health Careers Fair.
Over 300 students from all four of the nursing branches at Edge Hill attended the event at the Ormskirk campus. There were 34 companies at the fair with the aim of promoting themselves as prospective employers and training providers.
The University's considered to be one of the best health care training providers in the country and as a result, the fair attracted a number of leading organisations. The Royal College of Nursing and a number of Local Care and Primary Care Trusts from the NHS were at the event offering advice to the next generation of health professionals.
Katharine Mckinnon, Employer Liaison Officer at Edge Hill, said: "Now, more than ever it is important that we have a Health Careers Fair and enable students to access the information that they need for their future careers. There was something for all the students. Our objective for the day was achieved in that many students commented that they learnt about opportunities that they were previously unaware of.
Edge Hill University's nursing programmes are some of the most diverse and innovative in the country. From its base in Aintree there are a variety of options for students considering the nursing career path that range from diplomas to a PhD.
