American Guest Lecturers Bring History to Life
Edge Hill University welcomed two distinguished visitors from the US Embassy, London, for a lecture on Black Civil Rights in America since 1980.
Marie Damour and Liam O'Flanagan were invited by Professor Kevern Verney to give the guest lecture to history students.
During her impressive career with the US Department of State, Ms Damour has held posts in Mauritania, Paris, Ho Chi Minh City and Baghdad. She is currently Visa Unit Chief in the Embassy's Consular Section where she is responsible for handling more than 140,000 visa applications per year.
Liam O'Flanagan also works for the Consular Section of the Embassy and previously held a post at the US Embassy in Riyadh.
