Liam Leads Liaison in Education
Edge Hill University has appointed Liverpool based Liam Owens as Education Liaison Manager to help raise awareness of the benefits of higher education and the Edge Hill experience.
Liam, aged 25, left Liverpool Hope University to take up the challenge of expanding external relations at Edge Hill, the region?s newest and fastest growing university.
Chair of the Northwest Higher Education Liaison Officer's Association, Liam heads up a team of nine at Edge Hill. The team is responsible for communicating the benefits of higher education through recruitment events, University visit days and outreach work in schools and colleges, as well as advising on applications to study in higher education.
"I am delighted to have been appointed by Edge Hill. It really is a university on the up," said Liam. "Its reputation for widening participation is second to none and it has very ambitious growth plans. I am looking forward to contributing to the strategic management of the University by making sure that many more people across the UK are aware of its qualities in teaching, learning and research."
Plans to work with many more schools and colleges to provide guidance through the University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) are underway as is a strategy to reach people in employment.
