How Students See the Future
Students at Edge Hill University are invited to take a quantum leap into the future in a competition to find out more about their expectations for learning.
The competition, Future Learning is to be launched on 1st March and closes on the 16th April. Organised by SOLSTICE - Edge Hill's elearning initiative - the aim is for students to present how they think learning could happen at the University in the future. Students are invited to be as creative as they like using video, photography or audio to present their visions of learning.
John Davey is SOLSTICE Manager: "The SOLSTICE team is involved in ongoing research to find out more about how new technologies can improve learning. We have staff working with all Faculties and with partners globally to explore the future of learning. Students are central to our research and this competition is a way to find out more about their perspective."
Competition first prize is a lap-top computer, second prize a digital camera and third prize an iPod nano. Prizes will be presented at the SOLSTICE annual international conference in May 2007 to be held at Edge Hill?s Ormskirk Campus.
"We are looking forward to receiving student ideas that will help to inform future developments," added John.
From 1st March students who are interested in entering can visit www.edgehill.ac.uk/futurelearn to find out more.
