Dressed for Success
Edge Hill University has unveiled a unique new clothing range - with more than a little help from its students.
The University has teamed up with Liverpool-based clothing provider If We Ran The Zoo to produce eye-catching attire far removed from the plain designs that dominate campuses up and down the country.
Edge Hill's students played a key role in the design process, giving feedback on patterns, colours and styles.
"I really enjoyed being involved throughout the design process and it's great to see the final results looking so good," said Sociology student Carla Brayford, sporting a grey 'hoodie' and blue t-shirt complete with a motif of the famous Edge Hill ducks. "Getting the students involved was a great idea as you can pick up on new styles, get a feel for general opinion around campus and then provide students with University clothing that they really want.
"I'd say the designs are so fashionable that many students won't just be wearing the clothing around campus, they'll be wearing them on nights out as well."
In return for their support, 35% of the profits from t-shirt sales will go towards the University's student scholarship scheme.
Roselle Thompson, Edge Hill University Events Officer, said: "We want to provide a service to students rather than a profit-making scheme which is why we have chosen to redirect profits into the scholarships.
"I think the range is going to be very popular with our students and we hope to continue to work with Zoo, whose products are very modern and of a high quality, for the foreseeable future."
The range is available exclusively online at www.thezooedgehill.co.uk.
