Be My Valentine - Once Again!

Be My Valentine - Once Again!

As St Valentine's day looms large, couples will be celebrating while singletons across the region will be glad when it's all over. But for those who have once loved, lost and rekindled their passions, next week?s celebrations may be reminiscent of teenage Valentine's Days when it felt like love really did conquer all.

If you are part of a couple that has been reunited after a minimum separation of at least five years then student psychologist from Edge Hill University Gill Elliott would like to hear from you. Gill is investigating what psychological effects result with being reunited with lost loves, either through the popular Friends Reunited web site, or by any other means.

Gill said: "At one time the process of tracking down lost loves was an arduous one but now it's all too easy - with the click of a button a lost love can be found and contacted again."

Gill started her research in October last year and has already interviewed some willing participants for her study, although she would still like to hear from others who have a story to tell.

"My final project needs to be completed by the end of April so I'm still keen to speak to people of any age group in the north west region who have been reunited with someone who they were previously in love with, but had lost contact for at least five years."

If you are interested in helping Gill in her research contact gillianelliott787@hotmail.com tel: 079577 45563 or call the psychology office on 01695 584245. Gill will arrange a convenient time for participants to visit the University for an informal and confidential interview lasting approximately one hour. In return they will receive a copy of the research findings at the end of the project.
