Results Day Joy!

Edge Hill University's Ormskirk Campus welcomed students eager to collect their degree results yesterday. Laughter and tears filled Hale Hall where those who couldn?t wait to receive their results by post discovered if their years of hard work had paid off.

More students than ever achieved awards this year with around 1,800 graduates receiving degrees and PGCEs(Professional Graduate Certificates in Education).

This year saw a rise in the overall number of students achieving first and upper second class degrees. The first cohorts from the LLB Law degree programme- rated the best nationally for teaching and learning in the 2005 National Student Survey - and the BSc Web Systems Development are set to graduate.

Dr John Cater, Vice-Chancellor of Edge Hill University commented: "This year has been a real milestone for Edge Hill, having achieved university status and degree awarding powers. We all have something to celebrate and I?m pleased that more students than ever have achieved awards with us. I look forward to joining them all at graduation next week."
